Outreach

Help Make a Difference in the World!

It is the hope of the Outreach Team to equip and send members of our church into the community to be the hands and feet of Jesus!  This year we are focusing our efforts on existing partnerships the church already has established in an effort to strengthen our community involvement.  This means that we hope every member will find some way to serve locally through a sustained relationship -- with children, with immigrants, with the elderly, with the homeless, etc.

If you would like to join the outreach team, please contact the church office.  Typically, the team meets every other month for lunch after church.

Here Are a Few Ways We Are Reaching Out With Love

  • To children with the YMCA. Volunteers serve as a mentor at the after school program, which is housed at the church.  Children are ages 6 - 11 years old and several are special needs children.  Volunteers serve one day a week, 3:30 - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday.  This is a great way to forever touch the life of a child.
  • To the immigrant community with GRACE ministries.  Volunteers are needed on the third Friday morning to help sort and bag the food that will be distributed the next day.  Volunteers typically work 10 am - noon and lunch is provided.
  • To those who cannot read or write English: One time volunteers are needed to assist with ESL Registration. Volunteers help with registration and provide cookies/hospitality.  Volunteers are also needed to serve as teachers or as principals one or two nights per week through our ESL ministry.
  • To the elderly with Meals on Wheels.  Volunteers commit to driving at least one route weekly to deliver meals to those who are shut-in or ill.  Most receipients of meals are elderly and benefit from the regular contact from our volunteers.
